Two Fridays ago, as occasionally happens, a new release from Chris Brown landed in my inbox. You could stream a few episodes of Stranger Things 2 in that time. How does Brown keep getting a free ride, especially in the #MeToo era?
As the Guardian observed in a review of the biopic Chris Brown: Welcome to My Life last spring: “The film’s implication is that Brown, who witnessed the domestic abuse of his mother by his stepfather as a child, was not equipped to handle the intense public backlash and media scrutiny and thus entered a spiral of violent outbursts and drug use that was difficult for him to break free from, despite his sincere regrets.”. expressly prohibited without the prior written consent of Toronto Why, then, make the album so bloated? 1 album was 2012’s Fortune, and it’s clear he’d like another.
