Was this review helpful? The Jubilee was first laid out as a 12-hole course for “beginners and lady golfers” in 1897, commemorating the Diamon Jubilee of Queen Victoria. This greens slope left to right, make sure your approach is left of the pin.
It wasn't my favourite course of our trip, but I would play it again, given the opportunity!

PAR : 71 caddies were wonderful and the pace of play was right on. The green is flat and it is possible to two putt from just short of it. In my opinion, a trip to St Andrews without a round at the Jubilee is an incomplete experience as I personally felt it was more enjoyable than the more acclaimed New Course as well as other more celebrated courses in the area. The closest of the St Andrews courses to the sea, the Jubilee brings dunes into play and offers plenty of variation. The rating doesn't appear to support the words. I do recall some semi-blind drives so multiple plays would be beneficial, but I did enjoy the round. So this was my least favourite of the 4 St Andrews courses I played, but it’s worth a go if you have the 3 day ticket or can’t get on to any of the others. The 9th is a 190 yard par 3. I would recommend all to give this course a chance. The Jubilee course at St. Andrews was fun to play.
The fairway narrows the further you strike the ball so a long iron or fairway wood might prove more effective than a driver.
From there, a lay up to the right of the fairway gives the best line through the five bunkers that guard the green.
